Happy Friday!

To celebrate Friday, reaching 200 followers on Bloglovin‘, and the general awesomeness of Francesca’s Collections, I have a treat for you! Get 25% off an item from Francesca’s through the month of April with the promo code “SEEKING.” I don’t know if you’ve ever been to a Francesca’s location or browsed their online site, but go do it. For real. The size of their stores are pretty small, but I can literally spend hours in there. They have such pretty things and so many fun little trinkets. I first discovered Francesca’s at The Grove in Los Angeles. A friend and I would go in every single time we passed by and spent so much time looking around, making sure we touched everything of course.

I’ll be styling a couple Francesca’s looks myself this month!

So, happy Friday. Happy shopping. Happy weekend. Happy Easter!

*Jeans & Tee: Urban Outfitters. *Shirt: Thrifted (via Goodwill). *Denim Jacket: LA Fashion District. *Boots: Thrifted (via Crossroads).

So, I accidentally copied Dylana of Color Me Nana with this outfit. Accidentally, because the night I packed this outfit to wear in LA, my suitcase zipped tight, I was browsing through my Bloglovin’, and then stumbled up Dylana’s latest post. I decided to photograph and post it anyway because it’s obviously not identical, it’s definitely my style, and it brings up an interesting point.

I’ve spoken with several style bloggers who say they try not to look at too many style and fashion blogs because they do not want to be subconsciously influenced and copy someone. Well, I “copied” someone before I even saw her outfit! People are going to have similar styles. I am in no way comparing myself to Dylana; she is on a whole other level than I am. She is one of my style icons, I guess you could say. I love everything about her style. It actually made me smile thinking that I thought of a similar outfit because I am envious of everything in her closet.

Do you think you are too influenced by reading other style blogs (to the point of accidentally copying someone else’s look)?

I actually had packed a beanie as well, but forgot to put it on that day before we went out. It turned out for the better though, because it was super windy and they always fly off my head when it’s windy.

These shoes are another fabulous Crossroads find. I was about to pull the trigger and buy similar ones new for triple the price I paid at Crossroads. Ah. Mazing.

I wish everyone a fabulous weekend! And please remember to check out Francesca’s Collections and use the promo code “SEEKING” for 25% off an item!

P.S. I never say “fabulous” in real life, but somehow managed to use it twice in this post.

Congrats on 200! Your blog is growing splendidly!

I do think about that too! I feel like its hard not to copy other style blogger’s – but I like to think of it as a sincere form of flattery. People can have similar ideas and outfits. There’s not harm. It’s inevitable.

Yeah, I’d say fashion blogs have influenced the way I see clothes. However, its not as if I’m consciously trying to copy any of the bloggers out there. I have my own style, its just thanks to their outfits I see the variety and possibilities that come with clothes.
Anyway, I like this look! The plaid + denim is always a great mix. And your ring is perfect!

  5. Ooh I love that store!! It’s so fun! 😀
And I am influenced by bloggers but that’s why I love blogging, we inspire one another. I don’t usually copy their outfits but I did do one feature where I did it on purpose, haha…it was fun! But I don’t think I’ve ever done it without noticing..

Congratulations on the followers on Blog Lovin! How exciting!

I think it’s silly to limit yourself from looking at other people’s style blogs. I love to look at others because so many bloggers are VERY inspirational! It is a great way to see things worn in ways you would not have thought of. If it weren’t for fashion bloggers people would just be taking ideas from magazines to begin with, and on top if it, have to pay a subscription fee to get these ideas!!

I love the yellow plaid and denim jacket, you look stunning as always.

Plus I think when we are exposed to many amazing blogs and people, one can not help but get inspired. I love when they take that inspiration and put their own style into it, to make it their own.

this whole outfit is fab! and it’s so easy to “copy” other people without even meaning to! it’s pretty much impossible to be completely original!

  16. Congrats, and love the look! I think it’s great to get ideas from others and make it your own. There’s absolutley nothing wrong with drawing inspiration, as long as you make it your own. Which you did!

Congrats!!! You look awesome, I really like your outfit. I like reading style & fashion blogs. I would call it more of inspiration than copying, just because another blogger may style something together that I would’ve never thought of, which then opens me up to thinking about what I could style together that may not traditionally “go”. Francesca’s is flippin’ brilliant. I could spend hours in there.
