Snapshots

I feel like I have been running around with my head cut off, but without the accomplishments that should come with going full force, 100 miles an hour. Ever since the engagement (don’t worry, full post with the story and photos is coming!), I have felt the need to figure out everything now; living arragements, career, wedding planning – basically the rest of my life. Hopefully the unnecessary anxiety settles and I can enjoy this exciting time in my life.

Confession time? I have only had two pedicures in my life. I can hear the gasps of all the twenty-somethings that go every other week. I had plans to treat myself today, but due to unforeseen circumstances, aka, I’m broke as a joke, I’ve pulled out my mom’s at home foot spa. And as I always over share, I will tell you that my feet are currently being massaged by epson salt and bubbles in the foot bath. While watching a Keeping up with the Kardashians marathon, of course. Ah, the luxurious life. Next up, an at home manicure. I bought a nail buffer, people!

But, for real, I could get used to this.

Blame it on life being a little more hectic than normal, but today I’m sharing some everyday snapshots, rather than the normal outfit post; just a tiny glimpse into the simple things in life that make me smile.

What are your favorite simple things in life?

// Bloggin on New Years Day // New red boots – a sale I waited far too long for! // New cookbooks // Engagement photo sneak peak // Simple snack // Hats – hard to tell but there are stacks of hats on each hook // A little “Thanks” goes a long way // DIY mugs courtesy of my sister // Celebrating // My holiday diet //

Also, I took these pictures. Ugly Mug has taught me well. Meaning he handed me his camera on automatic settings.

That is one more pedicure than me. The snap shots are great. One of my favorite simple things in life is curling up in my bed with a book. i could read book after book forever!

The last two times I’ve gone for a mani-pedi it’s been more stressful than anything else, so your at home spa date sounds fabulous! Oh and those red boots are seriously stunning, so glad you got them!

  5. I can’t wait to hear your engagement story! And I think I’ve only had about 3 pedicures in my life… Only one more than you! I didn’t even get one for my wedding since I had closed toe shoes… Anyways, hope things calm down a little for you 🙂

Haha reading your posts always makes me smile, you have such a cute kind of humour 🙂

  9. I know that feeling you are describing upon getting engaged. I think a lot of comes from other people when they find out, because I got a lot of “when/where/bridesmaids/decor/theme/etc” like the week after which made me think I was running behind on planning the whole thing. I don’t want to give you yet ANOTHER piece of unsolicited wedding advice (since that is something else you are sure to get in spades) but try to take a step back and prioritize all the wedding stuff in a way that fits into your normal life too. Also, make sure to ENJOY being engaged – it’s so fun but very fleeting! Congrats, lady, we’ve got another Thriving Wife in the mix!

  11. Lovely photos, those shoes are so cute! And I understand- I’ve never had a manicure or pedicure! Haha I don’t mind doing my nails at home, although I’m sure it is relaxing!

congrats on your engagement! Definitely take time to relax and don’t get too stressed out. You just need to take things one step at a time. Date, venue, photographer and then everything else will kind of fall into place. And I prefer at home manicures too although I’m terrible at it haha!

  13. Love the red booties and the mr. and mrs. cups so cute!

Just take it slow, sip more coffee out of your adorable mugs, and paint your own nails: I, too, have only had two pedicures in my life 😉 What a shocker, but hey, at least I can always choose EXACTLY what color I want!
