Oh, how I love my Sundays. I may be the laziest person in the world when it comes to Sundays. Sleeping until noon, getting up and heading straight to the couch for more lounging, eating dessert for dinner and breakfast for dessert; all of those things happened yesterday and it certainly was a good day. Sundays are really my only day off, so I do need to fit in a lot of nothing in the one day. David did manage to drag my lazy ass to lunch at Tender Greens and the Melrose Trading Post, where he found some art to decorate our almost newly empty second bedroom, that we will be turning into an office.

How did you spend your weekend?

I am still trying to accept that it is back into work mode today!

I had my very first set of head shots taken a while back and I finally have had a chance to go through them, to weed out the good from the, um, well, terrible. Let’s just say there are a lot of outtakes and it seems as though I like to talk, laugh, and make faces while I am getting my picture taken. It may possibly be a defense mechanism to distract myself from the totally awkward feeling of having a camera in my face and focused only on me.

Instead of sharing the head shots I have chosen to use to submit for auditions, I thought sharing some of my favorite unretouched outtakes would be a lot more fun!

My photographer, Kyle, was amazing! He was so much fun to shoot with! He even convinced David to jump in for a few!

If you are in need of a photographer, check out Kyle Trafas, he is awesome! Please keep in mind that these are completely un-retouched.

I had the pleasure of being invited to the 5th annual Toys for Tots fashion show at Greystone Manor in Beverly Hills a few days ago (thanks Jack!), presented by Always Awake, Project Ethos, and Elite Fashion Academy of LA, and my favorite, a hosted bar by Midori. I went in not really knowing what to expect; what kind of fashion show can you have at a club? But a fashion show was certainly had!

There were three designers including T. Rains who was my favorite of the night. Imagine Christmas in fashion form, and that is the collection that T. Rains shared on Thursday night. You know how obsessed I am with anything Christmas related so seeing the gorgeous models dressed up like presents was so fun and definitely set the tone for the night! Other designers included Intrepid by AOC and Love Love by Jami

Hollywood truly is a small town; I was surprised by seeing a friend walking in the show!

Check out a few photos from the night!

I posted a bit of a compliation video of the T. Rains collection on my Instagram!

Please tell me that your iPhone screen is just as streaky.

This is the only shot I managed to get of my outfit that night.

This dress, by the way: brand new Armani Exchange leather dress, with original tags, found for $50 at Crossroads. Boom. It’s about a size too big, but I could not let this beauty go. I will get it tailored at some point, but it has already become my go to since I got it in the Spring.

Do you like blasphemy, bigotry, and stereotypes? Of course you do.Then you should see The Book of Mormon musical because it has all that, plus it is 100% politically incorrect.

Ugly Mug and I saw The Book of Mormon at the Pantages Theater this weekend (written by the creators of South Park) and there was hardly a minute that I was not peeing my pants laughing. If anything, listen to the soundtrack. You will be simultaneously offended and thoroughly entertained.

In all seriousiness, it’s a great piece of musical theater.

I have a very offensive sense of humor; sometimes people are shocked by the jokes that come out of my mouth. I think some people may be too sensitive.

Now that I have convinced you that I am an awful person, come to brunch with me?

Um, this outfit is entirely thrifted from Crossroads.

Call it obsession, but I cannot quit Crossroads. Or thrifting in general. Who else is addicted to thrifting? What are your favorite thrift or second hand stores?

Grub, in Los Angeles, is pretty much the best brunch spot for one reason: Free cereal. Forget bread or chips and salsa; I’d rather snack on a bowl of Fruit Loops, Cap’n Crunch, and Coco Puffs while I am waiting for my meal.

I’ve also heard there is a restaurant that caters only to cereal and grilled cheese in Pasadena. And one with just grilled cheese and cupcakes.

If you did not just drool, we are not friends.

And as you can see, I had a hard time deciding in what area to take photos. Ugly Mug puts up with a lot and don’t think for a second that I am not grateful for it.

Hi everyone!

Hello from New York! Even though I’m away, you won’t completely be rid of me. I like to make notes. In italics. Deal with it.

So as you may know, Jennifer is on vacation in New York (lucky her!) Hell yeah, lucky me!. She asked me to put up a guest post in her absence, so here I am. I have a blog of my own, The Fan Files, which is a concert photography & music blog. I go to a lot of shows, and take lots (she’s not lying. Lots.) of pictures while I’m at it. Currently, I’m at 43 shows for the year. I’ve come across quite a few great new bands and thought I’d share a few of them with you here.

Terraplane Sun

  • Sound like: Black Keys mixed with Cage The Elephant
  • Song to check out: “Get Me Golden
  • Fun Fact: Their song “Get Me Golden” was featured in the film, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” (Fun fact, I could not drag convince Ugly Mug to see this movie with me. Who wants to have a movie date?)

Lady Danville

  • Sound like: Harmonic, indie-pop
  • Song to check out: “Operating
  • Fun Fact: While on tour in Canada with Jack’s Mannequin, the guys actually flipped their van on some black ice and totaled the car! The image of that van became the cover of their EP “Operating”. (Fun fact, two days after I bought my first new car, a giant truck rammed into the back of me. I still have a gash in my bumper. I’m cheap frugal.)

The Mowgli’s

  • Sound like: Grouplove with the hippie-ness of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
  • Song to check out: “Hi Hey There Hello”, “San Francisco”, or “Slowly, Slowly
  • Fun Fact: Mowgli is the bands pet wolf-dog (Fun fact, the only pet I’ve ever had is a turtle. He ran away.)

Going to all these shows, I’ve also picked up on a fashion trend or two. Now that it’s summer, I love wearing dresses to shows. I have a pair of flat boots that I basically wear everywhere. I love them because I can wear them with just about any dress I have. For shows, I usually wear those boots with a cross body bag to round out the laid back look. (With all the dancing and jumping this girl does, she needs the air circulation dresses provide. No one is a fan of sweaty thighs , well, not in this particular situation).

If you like what you see, be sure to check out my blog, The Fan Files(Do it!)
