Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, but to be honest, there is not a holiday I don’t enjoy! We are heading up to Sacramento tonight to spend the weekend with my family.

I didn’t put together a proper Thanksgiving post, but I do want to say a few words about what I am thankful for.

I am thankful for having a caring, loving husband who is there for me whenever I need him, no judgements or questions asked and who makes me feel safe and loved, always.

I am thankful for having a supportive, strong family who I enjoy spending time with. You don’t get to pick your family, so I am very lucky that they are who I would pick if I had the choice.

I am thankful for the amazing friends that I have that are more of an extension of family.

I am thankful for the opportunities that I have in my life and that I have a chance to take advantage of. Not everyone is so lucky to be healthy and safe in their own home and environment and I am so grateful for my life. I am thankful that I am growing and gaining the strength that I need to push aside my fears and take chances. I am thankful for the blessing that has been given to me to be able to live a safe, healthy, and successful life.

And now sharing these outfit photos seems a bit silly, but that’s what I get for procrastinating and not creating content for a proper post.

I’m wearing this scarf these days like I need it to keep my head on. I think the small detail is a nice touch to a simple outfit. I need to expand my collection.

If you are celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow, I hope you have a beautiful day full of family, friends, thanks, and food.

How fun is this little black dress! I’ve worn it a few times since opening my latest Crossroads package and I thought I wasn’t able to style it enough to make it “blog worthy”, and then I realized how inane that was. My style is simple, typically minimalistic, and this dress has enough flare to stand on it’s own! After running a few Sunday errands, we stopped by this colorful wall for a few snaps.

When I don’t know what to wear, this jump suit inevitably pops into my mind. It’s so easy! One piece, matches any accessories, done. The only thing is that I have to basically have to get naked to use the restroom, but that’s what doors are for, right? It is a little awkward in a public stall, though, with the slits in the door frames and you’re so paranoid everyone sneaks a peak in when they pass by.

And my blog has come down to discusssing what type of clothing is the least functional for restroom uses. Seeking Style, everyone!

Wrost transition ever: Look at my jacket! I picked up this floral bomber at Crossroads Trading Co and I throw it on whenever I can. I am so in love with it!

My friend Michele took these photos for me the other day and I now notice, I am in various stages of jacket undress in them. It starts out completely on and ends up every way you can wear a jacket. And it really is how it ends up; it’s super chilly in the mornings but gets so warm by the afternoons, and I am prone to being cold everywhere, so I always have a sweater or jacket. If it’s not on, I tie it around my waist or I’m holding onto it.

I feel like I’m wearing pajamas when I wear this jump suit and that is fine by me! Clothing has to be comfortable. I don’t want to spend all day tugging and rearranging myself. Shoes are the exception. I hate to say it, but I’m totally a girl when it comes to shoes and I will stuff my feet into uncomfortable shoes if I have to!

I cannot help but laugh when someone besides David takes my outfit photos. I feel so awkward and silly when it’s anyone else. The proof is in the photos!

So, who else wishes they were at New York Fashion Week? Yeah, me too. Goal for next year, perhaps?

Another week down, and this year is passing by so quickly. Although it won’t get cold until mid October or so, Autumn is definitely sneaking in. I am longing for pumpkin butter, deep oranges and reds, cozy sweaters, and the leaves changing.

Until then though, it is still hot as balls here. Technical term, of course.

After giving you that nice little picture there, I need to remind you to not forget to enter my Crossroads sponsored giveaway! <————-Click there!

  • Listen to this: The Griswolds. Not as in National Lampoon’s, as in the bandDo you like parties, monkey masks, and colored powered smoke? Perfect, then you’ll love this. The Griswolds just sound fun. Fun as in, listen to them now and your 9 to 5 will go by a lot faster and onto Friday night you’ll be! Sometimes I talk like Yoda.
  • Read this: Easier said than done? Breaking it down makes it seem so easy. My current goal? Making things happen.

    • Watch this: The Mindy Project. There is no way Mindy Kaling can get any more awesome, right? Wrong. Along comes The Mindy Project, and bam! Mindy exceeds the awesome spectrometer. Also, I she was on my plane once. I walked past her and saw she was tweeting, so I tweeted her that I was sitting two rows behind her. I might have creeped her out. I did not receive a tweet back.
  • Eat this: Pumpkin Butter. I told you, I cannot wait to eat pumpkin butter! Give me a jar and a spoon and I will be occupied for about 7 minutes. The second it is available at Trader Joe’s, I am stocking up! Or, I may try something crazy, and make it myself. It is so good on toast, banana bread, cottage cheese, oatmeal, cookies… No, really, I can keep going? Or just take my word for it and try it.

  • Wear this: Free People. Why, oh why, are you so perfect? Have you seen the Fall catalog? Perfection.

  • Blog love: M Loves M. Mara has effortless, girly, vintage inspired style. Not only is she basically the cutest blogger ever, but she shares really sweet recipes. Sweet as in awesome and yummy. Can’t beat that.

Friday Fail!
I am super cute, I know.

I love baking and have been baking treats for a long time whenever there is a party or gathering of some sort. When I found out about cake pops, I hopped right on that wagon! I just wanted to share a quick tutorial of how to make cake pops, and tis the season for Christmas themed desserts of course, these are some Christmas tree cake pops I made!

Bake your cake (as you would any cake). After it is cooled completely, crumble the cake up. I use my hands, but you can use a food processor as well.

Here’s the fun part. After the cake is crumbled, dump in the frosting and mix it like you would meatloaf until it looks similar to the photo on the right. You want it to be able to hold a shape. You may need to add frosting if it will not hold up.

Now shape your tree pops! It’s easier than it may seem at first; just shape them into cones. After shaping, refrigerate the cake pop. I like to keep them in overnight, or you can put them in the freezer for an hour or so. When you begin to dip them into the melted candy melts, I recommend only taking a few out of the freezer at a time. If the cake pops warm up too much, they will not stay on the sticks and fall apart. After they are fully coated, decorate with mini kisses candies or sprinkles.

Side note: lollipop sticks and Styrofoam can be found at Michaels. They are both imperative in displaying cake pops, but I hope one day soon to find something a little sturdier. I always put them back in the refrigerator after they are done until I am ready to serve them.

I’ve also made ice cream cone and cupcake cake pops!

So, apparently I need to work on my blogger poses. Three out of the six pictures in this post are the same pose and I just noticed. Blogger fail! I give myself a pass though because I’m still just a beginner. I’ll practice my posing in front of the mirror just for you guys though.

*Pants: Jessica Simpson. Boots: Thrifted. Flannel Shirt: Thrifted. T-Shirt: Urban Outfitters. Knit Hat: Forever 21. Sunglasses: Forever 21

This is the pose that I can’t seem to get enough of. So original too right?! I wore this to work on Saturday. I usually work normal 9-5 office hours, but since I work in radio and deal with promotions, there are times when I work an event at night or on the weekends. At those events, I usually dress how I would on the weekends anyway (most are outside for two hours). I am interacting with listeners – playing games and giving away prizes – so it’s best to be comfortable. Plus, there’s a little bit of manual labor with setting up all the equipment.

Also, I am trespassing in these pictures. My front and back yard were becoming boring to me, so I borrowed the neighbors front yard. They have that huge wall in front of their house so they won’t notice. And yes, it is very awkward taking outfit pictures in your front yard when you live on a busy street. Cars are constantly driving by and two people walked right passed me here during this picture.

There’s that snake ring again. Love it.

P.S. I’ve heard Selena Gomez’s “Love You Like a Love Song” 7 times today. I’m not complaining.

Can’t get enough of that pose right?

K, thanks bye!

Just a quick post – mostly because most of my pictures did not turn out too well. I didn’t have time to take them in the morning and it was getting dark by the time I got home. Also, I learned that my under eye concealer does wonders. I also did not have time to put on any “makeup” in the morning, hence why you won’t see my face in these pictures! (When I say “makeup”, I mean under eye concealer, mascara, and this blue powder that is supposed to lessen the redness. Other than that, I don’t mess with the stuff.

*Jean Jacket: A wholesale wearhouse in the LA fashion district. Vest: Bows & Arrows. *Necklace: Forever 21

In the past, if I have had a jacket blazer over a shirt, I always had the shirt shorter or the same length. I decided to try it the opposite way today (aka, it was cold). (If my elbow was only over a few centimeters, I could have cropped that ugly truck out!)

*Boots: Urban Outfitters. Pants: Macys (Jessica Simpson)

I told you before, I like the out of focus pictures.
