Ah the weekend. Weekends are made for shopping, right? David and I just came back from a vintage flea market and I score a couple of goodies; a vintage newsboy cap and bandana. Super excited to have fun with those pieces!

I’ve been down sick with a viral infection for the past few weeks, so online shopping has been my go to entertainment while I rest up.

Check out some of my favorite finds available now at SheIn.com!

We know I love a good jumpsuit! I do have a couple more in my closet and wouldn’t be opposed to add to my growing collection!

Look, I do smile! I tend to not full on smile in blog photos – no reason why. I think I was smiling in theses photos because David was following me down the street, like my own personal paparazzi. This is actually my embarrassed smile; It was a Sunday morning, prime brunch time and the street traffic was heavy.

This is my last day before entering my last year of my twenties. It’s like my own personal New Year’s Eve. I have always thought that the real start of a new year was on your birthday, because, that literally is the end and beginning of a new year for you. I don’t make resolutions, but I do tend to make a mental list of goals and personal priorities to continue to better myself. I am hoping that this year I actually follow through. Maybe I should write it down! Has anyone ever done one of those “30 things before 30” goal lists and been successful with it?

I don’t know how I feel about getting older. I think I am generally okay with it; I’ve always been an old lady at heart anyway!

I was so deliriously happy with the rain in So Cal this weekend! While everyone else was complaining, I was running to my windows every time I saw the lightening flash and heard the thunder shake our windows. This weekend was spent running errands and giving our apartment a good deep cleaning. We spent Saturday night indulging in a Top Chef catch up marathon, listening to the rain, and ordering in food. So simple, and so perfect.

We may have had ourselves a little rain storm, but it was still super warm out! I love this denim mini skirt I picked up from Crossroads and have so many things to pair it with, but started with this flowy blouse from SheIn for the perfect casual weekend outfit.

Towards the end of our photo session, we got caught in some more wind and the beginning of some more rain. I wasn’t complaining!

I hope you are enjoying your week! I can’t believe it’s almost August! Why does the time go by so much faster the older you get? I am trying to find a way to slow down and enjoy the moment, instead of thinking what’s coming ahead and missing the present.

June gloom has come early! It’s been gloomy and almost on the chilly side in LA lately and I could not be more in love with it!

Summer is right around the corner and my weekends are becoming full with road trips, family gatherings, birthdays, and visions of the beach, barbeques, and probably many weekend afternoons thrift shopping and antique fair hopping. Our little home is finally coming together and we’re looking for a few more unique pieces to add and LA antique thrift stores, flea markets, and antique fairs are almost overwhemlingly stocked. If I can figure out indoor photography, perhaps I will share some photos of my favorite areas when we are finished! I would love to be able to add more life style posts to this blog; it’s just the time needed to so that I need to find!

I’ve had this dress for a couple years now and this is the first time I’ve worn it. I don’t know why because seeing these pictures reminds me how much I loved this outfit and I just want to keep remixing it! I tend to collect thrifted items, even when I have no idea how to style them, but when I figure it out, even years later, I’ll live in the damn thing!

Other things, I keep for years, even when they are literally falling apart, wearing them day after day. Like this jacket; it almost looks like it’s intentional, the grunge look. Not so, this jacket has just been overworn and is showing its age. Despite the little faux leather flakes that follow me around when I wear it, I love it just as much as when it was new. It is the perfect amount of worn in, and I think the wear almost adds to the image.

I hope I’m not the only one who has strange shopping and clothing habits. You should share yours in the comments to make me feel less like a hoarder!

Whenever bloggers have a noticable leave of absence from their blog, they always apologize. I feel like I should apologize, but I also feel that I do not want to assume that anyone has actually been effected by the lack of posting. I’ve been effected, so I should apologize to myself! It has been a bit sad not posting. I love this blog and sharing with my readers. I feel like the last few weeks have gone by so quickly and I had no time to put together thoughtful or relevant content, so I took a bit of a break. I am ready to start posting again! So much so that even though I don’t have  an outfit post today, I thought a wedding planning update and inspiration post would be appropriate!

All these photos were found via Pinterest and I have linked them back to the original source.

I am the first to admit that I am not a very visually creative person, so our wedding is being directly stolen inspired by weddings and images found on Pinterest. Our “theme” is picnic and since it is outside, we feel that we do not need much. We are usually simply people by nature, and I think what we have come up with is very much a reflection of us.

So far, we have all the big details naild down except for the DJ. I am getting a bit worried about that! Afer that, all we need to figure out are the little details, which I think are actually the most important. I will most likely be in Sacramento the majority of August so that I am able to easily take care of all the details.

With a little less than 3 months to go, the countdown is on!

I am heading out of town for the 4th week in a row tomorrow, to celebrate my best friend’s birthday in San Diego!

What are your weekend plans? Does summer mean more traveling and road trips for you?

You are going to be extremely annoyed with my obnoxious fan girl behavior today and tomorrow.

The new Backstreet Boys album is out today! I am going to see them on the Jimmy Kimmel show tonight and tomorrow I am going to see them perform at the Grove. So please excuse my tweets and instagrams now because I will not be forgiving. They make me bopper.

If you want to experience extreme euphoria, I suggest you pick up a copy of the new album.

And that concludes my informercial. To be continued when I see them on tour three times in September. And go on the cruise in October.

I am not playing around here, people.

Can you believe I finally am posting a proper outfit post? It has been a month. A month. I wish this was a more epic outfit to make up for the fact, but it is simple; just like my style.

It is also 100% Crossroads, because what else would it be?

This skirt is my favorite thrift find in quite a long time. The high waist, the color, the buttons: all perfection. And it fit me. I may have done a victory dance in the dressing room when I found it. Can you blame me?

Fun fact: I got all these items at all different Crossroads’ stores.

Ah my love for Crossroads is endless. It’s like shopping at all the stores at once.

And now ends my informercial for Crossroads. Until next time!

What’s the verdict on my hair color? It has faded a bit and is somewhat lighter than when it was first colored for work. I am still on the fence. It is a livable color, but I definitely prefer blonde. To save money and further damaging my hair, I will probably keep it for a little while longer. I definitely want to be back to blonde before my wedding though.

Friday, friday, friday!

Do you have any plans this weekend? Personally, I have a slumber party to attend. We have a lot of important things to do, like eat junk food, possibly sing karaoke, maybe go dancing. Yes, all very awesome and important things that grown ups need to do.

But first, tonight is date night! Ugly Mug and I haven’t had a proper date night in a while. We’ve been trying to save money (mostly me) and working a lot (mostly him), so it will be nice to go to a new restaurant on the last night of Dine LA.

If you don’t have any plans, here, read this. Now you have plans for the next five minutes.

  • Listen to this: Robin Thicke “Blurred Lines”Talk about sexy music. Robin Thicke’s new album is definitely on my ‘to buy’ list for next week! I’ve been obsessing over the single all summer, so I am totally ready for the album; who’s with me?

  • Read this: Shailene Woodley Doesn’t Wear Makeup to Events… It’s a short article, but I love that Shailene Woodley goes makeup free not only in her general down time, but to events (save for the Oscars and what not). Shailene believes in natural beauty and does not want to perpetuate impossible body images. There is still hope for the future generations!

  • Watch this: Top Chef Masters. A little not so secret about me: I love watching cooking shows. I generally fall asleep to watching The Food Network. I love food so much, that even just looking at it entertains me. The new season of Top Chef Masters premiered this week and it looks like it’s going to be a good one; They jumped out of a plane on the first episode! I’m rooting for return contestant Bryan Voltaggio.

  • Eat this: Peanut Butter Lover’s Ice Cream. This is not the first time that I have shared one of Michelle’s recipes on Friday Favorites, and it certainly won’t be the last. I am obsessed with peanut butter. So much so that I have to stop myself from buying it, just so I won’t eat it out of the jar with a spoon. I can finish a jar in just a few days. I actually could finish a jar in about an hour, but I do have a bit of self control. All of which would go out the window if (when) I make this peanut butter ice cream. We planning on making ice cream at the slumber party this weekend. I may end up in a sugar coma.

  • Wear this: Asymmentrical SkortI have been seeing this Zara skort on just about every blogger, but myself, the last couple of months. I usually don’t jump on the trend bandwagon just to be a part of something, but I am in love with this skort. I finally found an even more affordable one at Forever 21! So affordable that it is free because I just so happen to have some store credit. What do you think of the skort coming back?

  • Blog love: That’s Chic. This girl has such a wide range of style, but she makes anything look good. I have yet to see her wear anything remotely unflattering. You don’t even want to know the things I would wear if everything I fell in love with looked good on me and I had the confidence to pull it off.
