I worked with ModCloth a couple of months ago on a boheimian themed shoot in Joshua Tree, CA and I am so thrilled with how the photos turned out! This was probably my favorite ModCloth shoot so far. I was booked last minute – I’m talking 12 hours before a call time that was 3 hours away last minute – and I’m glad that I had the flexibility to be able to meet them out there with such little warning. We stayed overnight at an Air B’n’B  house, in bunk beds, scaring ourselves with ghost stories and enjoying a really fun dinner out with the crew! It has always been a pleasure to work with ModCloth!

Here are my favorite from the shoot!

I hope everyone in the States had a wonderful 4th of July holiday! The best part about any holiday for me is my family coming and spending time together. We had a smaller crowd than normal, but I had just as much fun this year as each past year. We attempted to fry our own corn dogs and mini candy bars, had some tasty sangria, and enjoyed a private fireworks show in our backyard hosted by my ever entertaining Dad and cousin.

I realized I do not own any red clothing, so I was a bit out of the color scheme for the holiday, instead wearing maroon, white and blue. It is the thought that counts!

I cannot get this shirt untied from around my waist. It’s impossible. I’m stuck in the 90s and I don’t care. Also, my shorts are a little too short and it was a family party, so since I was already a bit risqué (or, naked as my Dad referred to me) on the top, it also helped to cover up a bit more. As much as I could bare in the high 90 degree heat, anyway! Style and function!

How did you celebrate holidays? Do you tend to keep them family events or to make plans with friends? Holidays have always been family-centric for me, probably because I grew up close in proximity to the majority of my family, so it has always been easy for us to get together for all the major holidays. For Thanksgiving and Christmas, my friends and I usually celebrate either a couple days before or after with our own party, which is nice because I get to share the holidays with friends and make those days last a little bit longer! I am a holiday whore, so any excuse to drag them out, I will use it. Repeatedly!

Fried candy bars, guns, family, and my dad jumping through fireworks. Can’t get more American than that!

p.s. My second billboard for the California Family Fitness 2014 campaign is up all around Sacramento! My totally realistic and not stupid goal at all is the climb up to the ledge and sit on the billboard next to myself and take a selfie with my billboard. The next billboard will be up in September, so I have a couple months to build up the nerve to try to get up there. It will never happen.

Guess what? It’s my 300th blog post!

I cannot think of a better milestone post than these amazing photos from a shoot I did just a couple of weeks ago when I was in Sacramento.

This is the second time I have worked with Geejers Photography (see the first shoot here). Jennelle is a dream to work with and we have already talked about shooting together a third time when I am in town next, with Ernesto of course; who did the amazing make up job! Ernesto Robledo is one of the most creative make up artists I’ve worked with!

Please check out the sites linked above and show Jennelle and Ernesto much love!

ModCloth has launched their brand new digital magazine, The Style Book, and yours truly is featured in the first issue!

This shoot was so much fun; we rode bikes in beautiful weather all day! I cannot think of a better “job”! All the smiles, all the laughter is really real – especially the last photo. My “tell” is my nose crinkle! When I am truly laughing, my nose crinkles and I get crazy eyes. Apparently it makes for good photos!

I highly recommend reading through the first issue of The Style Book! It is all about summer styles and it features the most beautiful ladies, inside and out, that I have worked with!

Here are some of my photos from the issue and a fun video!

Oh, how I love my Sundays. I may be the laziest person in the world when it comes to Sundays. Sleeping until noon, getting up and heading straight to the couch for more lounging, eating dessert for dinner and breakfast for dessert; all of those things happened yesterday and it certainly was a good day. Sundays are really my only day off, so I do need to fit in a lot of nothing in the one day. David did manage to drag my lazy ass to lunch at Tender Greens and the Melrose Trading Post, where he found some art to decorate our almost newly empty second bedroom, that we will be turning into an office.

How did you spend your weekend?

I am still trying to accept that it is back into work mode today!

I had my very first set of head shots taken a while back and I finally have had a chance to go through them, to weed out the good from the, um, well, terrible. Let’s just say there are a lot of outtakes and it seems as though I like to talk, laugh, and make faces while I am getting my picture taken. It may possibly be a defense mechanism to distract myself from the totally awkward feeling of having a camera in my face and focused only on me.

Instead of sharing the head shots I have chosen to use to submit for auditions, I thought sharing some of my favorite unretouched outtakes would be a lot more fun!

My photographer, Kyle, was amazing! He was so much fun to shoot with! He even convinced David to jump in for a few!

If you are in need of a photographer, check out Kyle Trafas, he is awesome! Please keep in mind that these are completely un-retouched.

I have been so lucky to be able to work with ModCloth so many times! I could not imagine a nicer, more fun group of people. It is so refreshing to look forward to going to work!

Check out the latest style book that I shot with ModCloth: A Stylish Union!

It was so fun to dress up in bridal wear as I am planning my own wedding. The set stylists did such a beautiful job styling the set, I even had to take photos of the set on my phone for my own inspiration!

I am back on set with ModCloth today shooting for their May campaign, so I felt it was fitting to share some of my latest photos with them! Check out the entire stylebook HERE.
