It’s a good day to be a Friday. Indeed, it is Good Friday. Which means Easter is on Sunday, which means Lent will be over, which means I get to eat junk food again. Yessssss. Nevermind the fact that 90% of the time I eat clean anyway, but now I get my treats every once and a while again. Good thing too; I am making two cakes for Easter lunch at my grandparent’s house. Why two? Because I legit could not decide on a flavor. That means I will be eating two pieces of cake and crying at the gym the next morning not giving one ish about it.
Do you celebrate Easter?
Do you celebrate cake?
- Listen to this: Boyce Avenue. I’m a little late for this train, but Boyce Avenue does acoustic covers of popular Top 40 songs. Acoustic? Good. Top 40? Good. Acoustic covers of Top 40? Yes, please! Thank you to Ugly Mug for giving me the heads up on the “I’ll Be There For You” cover, the theme song for Friends if you’ve been living under a rock. Their original music is worth a listen too!
- Read this: Why Influencer Marketing is Failing in Retail. It’s a little of a long read for a Friday, but it’s really interesting. If you are a blogger, wanna be to power blogger, it is a must read. If you take anything away from this article, it should be “Quality over Quanity.” The amount of followers a blogger has does not equate with success when partnering with a company for branding purposes. The more relevant the blogger is to the brand, the more successful the campaign. Being a relativly small blogger, it’s nice to hear! It gives us little blogs hope that companies will learn to work with us for what we really have to offer, not how many comments or visitors we have.
- Watch this: Backstreet Boys ‘Harlem Shake’. This is the best harlem shake video ever. And not because I am biased. Because it is fact. In fact, it is such fact that is is the best video ever. Just of any general video. Out of all the moving pictures ever, this is the best. Watch it. No need to thank me. But, you are welcome.
- Eat this: Meringue-Frosted Cake with Raspberry Filling. Can Martha Stewart fail you? I am 98% sure no. Not when it comes to baked goods anyway. And crafts. And decor. And parites. I think you get it. This is one of the cakes I am making for Easter. Make it and enjoy it with me. Figuratively, that is. Please do not show up at my grandparent’s house to eat cake with me. That would be weird.
- Wear this: Gypsy Junkies. If there was anything so perfect to hang in my closet, to wear, to make me feel beautiful and free, to just exist in my presence, it would be Gypsy Junkies clothing. Just look. Look at it. Look at it because I can’t look away. Look with me and hope that one day soon we will be so lucky to wear these pieces.
- Blog love: Into the Fold. I just found this blog recently and I wasn’t sure if there was such thing as blog love at first site, but I might just be a believer now. Camilla has an Olsen twin-esque style about her, and I hope she takes that as a high compliment because I am kind of obsessed with the Olsen twins’ style. Check out Camilla’s blog if you want never ending inspiration.
Today is a nice day for a Friday fail, right?
Either the sun was in my eyes or I was very facsinated by whatever is just out of frame.
