Ah the weekend. Weekends are made for shopping, right? David and I just came back from a vintage flea market and I score a couple of goodies; a vintage newsboy cap and bandana. Super excited to have fun with those pieces!

I’ve been down sick with a viral infection for the past few weeks, so online shopping has been my go to entertainment while I rest up.

Check out some of my favorite finds available now at SheIn.com!

Happy first day of Autumn! Now if only the weather will start cooperating over here in California. Those of you who live in areas with temperatures already dropping are probably massively eye rolling me, right? The grass is always greener, my friends!

UntitledWe spent Sunday exploring the Pop Up Flea at The Grove. I was a bit disappointed because when going to a flea market, I am expecting more vintage, craft, unique items for a bargain; The set up at this pop up was made up of all very new, curated, very expensive items. Oddly enough, mostly leather goods geared towards men. I went hoping for more women’s clothing and home accessories. Don’t get me wrong, everything was well made and crafted, but it just was not what I was expecting. We ended up spending a few hours shopping around The Grove after and I treated myself to a few goodies from Nordstrom and Topshop that I am pretty excited about!

I am literally obsessed with this jumpsuit and have already worn it out. Literally. Last time I wore it to work, I noticed a little split in the seam, right down my backside. Luckily, I have a couple fantastic co-workers and I was sewed up in no time.

I probably walked around this little pop up about 7 times. Even though I knew I couldn’t actually afford anything, it all was really beautiful and the craftsmanship was worth paying detailed attention to. David took his quick spin around and then spent some time in Barnes and Noble while I shopped the rest of the afternoon; With his encouragement! What a good husband, right?

We’ve been having a massive heat wave here in California, but today was dark and rainy, such a contrast from when I took these photos on Sunday in the sweltering heat. I think Fall is finally making an appearance. Before I completely pretend that LA has real seasons and suffer just to wear my sweaters and hats, I have a few more weekends for dresses and bare legs.

I was gifted this bright dress from Rowme. It’s not typically my style, but it’s such a classic shape that when I saw it, I knew that it was love!

When we have a free Sunday, need to find a gift for someone, or add an accent piece to our apartment, we head over to the Melrose Trading Post in Hollywood. That’s where we spent our Sunday afternoon this past weekend. It always happens that we find just what we’re looking for on our way out, after we swear that we’ve looked at every little thing. It’s my favorite treasure trove!

Last weekend was our one year wedding anniversary, if you didn’t already realize by the wedding photo spam that slapped you in the face over here. We headed to Palm Springs for an extended weekend with plans to relax and not do much else. Mission accomplished! I woke up sick the second morning of our stay, so we were forced to stick to our relaxation plan and had to cut our exploring to a short stroll downtown on Sunday. It was hot as shit that weekend anyway, triple digits each day, so we spent time in our comfortable, air conditioned hotel room, went out for dinners at State Fare Bar + Kitchen at the Ritz Carlton hotel and Simon Kitchen and Bar at The Hard Rock Hotel, and night swam. I highly recommend both restaurants! State Fare was so incredible in helping us celebrating our night; we were given a hand signed card, complimentary champagne, the booth with the best view, and the musical talent for the night played our song on request! Also, if you’re ever in the area, you have to at least stop by Simon Kitchen and Bar and get the Bacon Jam appetizer. Have to. I’ve already made a copy cat version.

We took a chance on the Hotels Tonight app for the first time and ended up booking two different hotels as an exuse to experience a bit more. The first night we stayed a bit farther out of Palm Springs at the Westin Mission Hills Resort. It’s a time share (we were not pressured into listening to any lectures or buying anything), and more family oriented. Our room was like an apartment! It was really nice to have a kitchen and our own little patio. The second night we stayed at the Riviera Palm Springs, which had a younger vibe and the most comfortable bed and delicious chocolate lava cake (that of course we ate in said bed watching a movie because there’s no better way to enjoy chocolate cake).

Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to take advantage of most of the resort and hotel’s offerings, like the spa and golf range. It gives us a good reason to go back soon!

We had such a wonderful weekend! I think we might only go back druring the cooler months; we aren’t typcically hot weather people. It seems like pool lounging and eating are the only two things to do in the town, however, so if you’re more adventurous and into lots of activities, this might not be the vacation city for you.

This is definitely not an ad, by the way. I wish it were! It would mean we were compensated for our trip, ha!

Also, David surprised my by renting a convertible for the weekend. So much fun!

We know I love a good jumpsuit! I do have a couple more in my closet and wouldn’t be opposed to add to my growing collection!

Look, I do smile! I tend to not full on smile in blog photos – no reason why. I think I was smiling in theses photos because David was following me down the street, like my own personal paparazzi. This is actually my embarrassed smile; It was a Sunday morning, prime brunch time and the street traffic was heavy.

This is my last day before entering my last year of my twenties. It’s like my own personal New Year’s Eve. I have always thought that the real start of a new year was on your birthday, because, that literally is the end and beginning of a new year for you. I don’t make resolutions, but I do tend to make a mental list of goals and personal priorities to continue to better myself. I am hoping that this year I actually follow through. Maybe I should write it down! Has anyone ever done one of those “30 things before 30” goal lists and been successful with it?

I don’t know how I feel about getting older. I think I am generally okay with it; I’ve always been an old lady at heart anyway!

Getting dressed and realizing that I’ve ended up head to toe in Crossroads finds, thrifted or new merchandise, happens a lot. It’s definitely my first stop, whether I’m looking for something specific or just have an urge to shop. It’s a place that I can go that I don’t have to worry about looking at the price tag and being disappointed and then depressed that I have to leave it behind. I could gush all day!

I’ve worn this outfit multiple times, and it might look familiar because I wore it to the Crossroads Spring Social shopping party a month or so ago and shared some photos on Instagram. It came back into the rotation and I remembered that I never took proper photos!

Also, I think you need to know that the Backstreet Boys documentary is now on Netflix, so you’re running out of excuses to not see it. It’s that simple.

This is me just thinking about watching it. For real. Except at this exact moment, I really am watching it. We don’t really need to explain how happy it makes me, because I’d like you to think I’m a bit more normal than I really am.

June gloom has come early! It’s been gloomy and almost on the chilly side in LA lately and I could not be more in love with it!

Summer is right around the corner and my weekends are becoming full with road trips, family gatherings, birthdays, and visions of the beach, barbeques, and probably many weekend afternoons thrift shopping and antique fair hopping. Our little home is finally coming together and we’re looking for a few more unique pieces to add and LA antique thrift stores, flea markets, and antique fairs are almost overwhemlingly stocked. If I can figure out indoor photography, perhaps I will share some photos of my favorite areas when we are finished! I would love to be able to add more life style posts to this blog; it’s just the time needed to so that I need to find!

I’ve had this dress for a couple years now and this is the first time I’ve worn it. I don’t know why because seeing these pictures reminds me how much I loved this outfit and I just want to keep remixing it! I tend to collect thrifted items, even when I have no idea how to style them, but when I figure it out, even years later, I’ll live in the damn thing!

Other things, I keep for years, even when they are literally falling apart, wearing them day after day. Like this jacket; it almost looks like it’s intentional, the grunge look. Not so, this jacket has just been overworn and is showing its age. Despite the little faux leather flakes that follow me around when I wear it, I love it just as much as when it was new. It is the perfect amount of worn in, and I think the wear almost adds to the image.

I hope I’m not the only one who has strange shopping and clothing habits. You should share yours in the comments to make me feel less like a hoarder!
