Sometimes I dress like a boy. Today is one of those days. The exception being my leopard flats. I’ve never seen a boy wear leopard flats. Not to say it has not happened, will not happen and cannot be done, I’ve just never personally seen it.

These boyfriend jeans are one of my treasured finds from the Crossroads VIP shopping party I attended last week! I have been looking for a good pair of boyfriend jeans for what seems like years; they are either too tight in the thighs and loose in the waist of vice versa. These J Brand boyfriend jeans are just the ticket! I was worried they made me look a bit hippy, or slumpy, but then I didn’t care anymore because they are so comfortable and I am in love.

Holy cow, this was an accident, but it is a common accident. I am head to toe in Crossroads finds (minus my glasses, so I suppose, I am neck to toe). The good thing about find so much from Crossroads is that it doesn’t look like one store just threw up on me. When someone is head to toe in clothing from say, Abercrombie and Fitch, you can tell. With thrifting and consignment shopping, all the clothes are from so many different stores, brands, and labels, you can’t tell. It’s just a one stop shop for a little bit of everything.

Can you tell I was lazy today? Top bun it is! When I throw my hair up, I usually throw my glasses on to, even though I am only near sighted, because my face feels naked without my hair constantly shielding it. Also, I wanted to trick you into thinking that I’m smart.

Can I also be a stereotypical blogger for a minute? This weather is out of control. It is unacceptable for it to be 90 degrees in the middle of November. For real. I want sweaters, scarves, and hot coffee in my hand. I am pretty much forcing myself to be uncomfortable with wear Fall-ish clothes right now though. If Fall won’t come to me, I will just pretend! I cannot wait for the cooler temperatures in Nor Cal when I go home for the holidays!

I mean, do you understand how sad it is to see Christmas decorations in 90 degree heat? Terrible. Let’s get it together Mother Nature!

I worked with Modcloth for the third time back in September and I decided to steal Ugly Mug’s camera to take a few behind the scenes photos. I personally love seeing behind the scenes photos, sometimes more than the actual photoshoot. Photos shoots are not glamorous; it is mostly waiting, and being picked and prodded at, but I love them! One of the days ran much longer than scheduled, but honestly, I was happy to spend every extra minute with the ModCloth team. They are just as awesome as you would imagine!

I am kind of the worst person to take candid, behind the scenes photos; the camera never does what I want it to. It has nothing to do with me, obviously it is a camera defect, ahem, but I hope these give you a bit of insight into what goes into creating a photoshoot!

Last minute Friday morning, day after the 4th of July, thrown together before boarding a plane to Phoenix to see my future sister-in-law graduate medical school, Friday Favorites.

  • Listen to this: The 1975. I was listening to KROQ and when The 1975 was said to be next, and the current obsession of the DJ, I immediately took note of the name because I was getting out of the car. Sometimes you do have to judge a book by it’s cover, or a band by it’s name. Which I was totally right to do so. I love the sound of The 1975 and I’m pretty sure you will to. Sidenote: I love when you can hear accents in singing.
  • Read this: 100 Rules of Dinner. Jenny and Andy of he blog Dinner: A Love Story shared their personal rules of dinner, which I actually read some time ago and just now thought of sharing, and I think they are smart, funny, helpful, and worth a read. One of my favorites: 17. Dessert should be cake. Just saying I agree.

100-Rules

  • Watch this: Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal. Ryan Gosling is awesome. Cereal is awesome. But do the two get along. According to this vine channel, no, they do not. Ryan Gosling is too awesome for cereal. He ain’t got time for it. Below is the most recent installment, but be sure to check out Ryan McHenry’s vine for more!
  • Eat this: Zucchini Spaghetti. I eat a version of this dish about twice a week. It is so easy and so good! If you season it just right, you can trick yourself into thinking you are eating pasta, and we all know nothing is better (or worse) than eating pasta.

  • Wear this: Lolli Swim. We are in the middle of the summer heat wave! Lolli Swim has the cutest swim suits, honestly something for everyone! I’m thinking I need a new swim suit for my upcoming Backstreet Boys cruise in October. Year, you read that right.

  • Blog love: Pumps & Kicks. The UK just breeds them better. I have not read a style blog from a UK’er that I didn’t fall in love with. And no that is not me asking to share disaster blogs; don’t mess with my love for the UK. Back to Pumps & Kicks; If you can wear overalls and still look badass, then I love you.

Google Reader is shutting down July 1st, that is tomorrow people! Or, today, maybe yesterday, depending on when you read this. The point is, you will need a new place to follow this and the many other blogs that you follow. I recommen Bloglovin’. I personally use it to follow 197 blogs (and counting).

Just in case you are technologically impaired, like I consider myself, here is how to import all your blogs from Google Reader to Bloglovin‘.

In case you didn’t get that, it’s as easy as clicking this link.

Enjoy your weekend and I will be seeing you on Bloglovin‘! Remember to leave your own Bloglovin’ links below!
