Life is about to get busy. I just realized that I am out of town or booked solid for the next 5 weeks. What??

I am currently on a train heading up to Sacramento for a couple weeks of wedding planning. The first weekend, David will join me for some food and cake tasting and meeting with the photographer and florist (who is my lovely cousin!). The next weekend, my co-Maid of Honor will join me and we will be doing hair and make up trials and hopefully finalizing dresses for her and my sister. I may  or may not have planned this trip in conjunction with the Backstreet Boys tour, so we will also be seeing them up there as well!

When I get back to LA, it is time for more Backstreet Boy fun in LA and then in Vegas! The next week is my BFF’s birthday in San Diego and the week after is mine and David’s 8 year anniversary and his birthday, the big 3-0!

Phew!

We are about 100 or so days away from this wedding. Is it freak out time yet? I feel like freaking out right about now. We don’t even have a DJ booked. Oops! Yet somehow, I also almost feel like it’s all going to come together the way we want it to. Am I being too optimistic?

See how else I have styled these pants!

Now that I am back health wise, it is time to buckle down and get into full bridal mode: mentally and physically. I need suggestions, all of them! Does anyone have any recommendations for workouts, training guides, bridal bootcamps, etc? My dress is strapless and I am looking to tone my arms up. You can’t show up to gun fight without guns, if you know what I mean! I’m sure no one does, but that the norm.

I am trying not to put too much pressure on myself, I want to enjoy this time and the day of course, but I also want to look and feel my best. I need to get back on that Seeking Health train and hold myself accountable!

This is my summer hair in case anyone was wondering. I have too much hair and no talent for taming it in the heat. My sister makes fun of me because you’re not suppose to see the bobby pins. I think people know my hair does not naturally stay this way. Or do you? either way, I’m ok with it.

I don’t know if you have noticed over the last couple of years of me sharing my outfits, but I occasionally dress like a Grandma.

And I like it.

Very much like Macklemore, I go thrift shopping and I wear your Grandma’s, and let’s be honest, sometimes Grandpa’s, clothes. I am able to admit that some of my favorite outfits are not the most flattering, or what is considered stylish, and I hate this word, but “hip”, but damn if this was not the most comfortable outfit I’ve worn in a long time. Besides my pajamas, and I work at home so I am in pajamas the majority of the day!

It probably would not surprise anyone that this outfit is completely thrifted, minus the necklace; If you are a reader of this blog, you know I thrift often. If you are not, you would take a look at this outfit and take a good guess that at least half of it came from Goodwill. Maybe even that I got dressed in the dark. And that’s ok.

I would not call this a fashion risk, but I like to dress how I feel and dress like myself, and deep down, I am an 80 year old woman trapped in a 27 year old’s body.

Hey, it’s Friday! TGIF! Except I work at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning, but at least I get to stay in my pajamas, drink my coffee slowly and no one is the wiser!

Does anyone have any wild and crazy plans for this weekend that I can live vicariously through?

We almost have our Save the Dates printed. Shits getting real, guys. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful friend who has offered to design and print the Save the Dates! It is one less thing to stress about, and Lord knows I could use less stress.

I’m one of those people who stress and worry about absolutely nothing. It’s fun times!

I am excited to share more about the wedding planning process. Would anyone be interested in seeing an update with the style and feel we are going for?

I had the pleasure of being invited to the 5th annual Toys for Tots fashion show at Greystone Manor in Beverly Hills a few days ago (thanks Jack!), presented by Always Awake, Project Ethos, and Elite Fashion Academy of LA, and my favorite, a hosted bar by Midori. I went in not really knowing what to expect; what kind of fashion show can you have at a club? But a fashion show was certainly had!

There were three designers including T. Rains who was my favorite of the night. Imagine Christmas in fashion form, and that is the collection that T. Rains shared on Thursday night. You know how obsessed I am with anything Christmas related so seeing the gorgeous models dressed up like presents was so fun and definitely set the tone for the night! Other designers included Intrepid by AOC and Love Love by Jami

Hollywood truly is a small town; I was surprised by seeing a friend walking in the show!

Check out a few photos from the night!

I posted a bit of a compliation video of the T. Rains collection on my Instagram!

Please tell me that your iPhone screen is just as streaky.

This is the only shot I managed to get of my outfit that night.

This dress, by the way: brand new Armani Exchange leather dress, with original tags, found for $50 at Crossroads. Boom. It’s about a size too big, but I could not let this beauty go. I will get it tailored at some point, but it has already become my go to since I got it in the Spring.

Most people start out the week refreshed, at their best, and ready to roll with the punches. Me, apparently not so much. This morning I had a moment of, “I have things to do, that I don’t necessarily want to do, but at the same time want to, and need to, so throw me that t-shirt and let’s get it over with!.” Not in a lazy, complaining way, just in a “I’m not sure if it’s worth it way, but dammit I’m going to try.” On another note, good vibes in general are appreciated! Let’s make a deal: Good vibes for good vibes. Sounds like the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

Look, Ma, no hat! Just roots. Terrible, terrible roots. Has anyone tried any at home root touch up kits?

This is somewhat of my uniform; tee, jeans, some thing nearby to throw on when I get chilly. I am always cold. I bring sweaters with me everywhere, even in the middle of summer. Movie theaters, grocery stores, office buildings: I’m not sure why the air conditioning has to be full blast at all times, but I will be prepared.

Is it odd that I have no arms in this photo?

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and an even better rest of the week!
