Candy + Clothes. These are the things that make me happy on any given day. I think that’s a true statement for all woman. And people in general.

So. I’m 27 today.

I don’t know what else to say about that. I’m not into celebrating my birthday. Yes, I am one of those people. I appreciate well wishes and cards, and who can turn down presents, but I don’t need, or want, the hoopla. I’ll be honest, my birthday turns me into a brat.

Honestly, I don’t like being disappointed. My birthday always tends to lead to disappointment and I’d rather bypass that and just enjoy a regular day.

So. Let’s move on. I just felt the need to represent the people who don’t like birthdays. I’m not a kill joy; quite the opposite.

27. It’s such an odd age. I am in my late twenties. It kind of makes me want to barf.

If there is an Urban Outfitters Surplus store near you, get there. The entire store is on sale. And they have ping pong, foosball, arcade games, and a photobooth. Win.

We cheated with the photobooth and used our own camera.

I play a mean game of ping pong. Meaning, I am terrible and I am a poor sport.

Candy galore.

The only thing I enjoy about my birthday is that I get to eat whatever I want and I don’t feel guilty about it.

Oh, hi. Yes, it has been a week. No, I do not have an excuse. Well, I do, but not a good one, so I’ll save you’ll the trouble of reading it and just call myself a slacker.

Speaking of slacking – aren’t iPhone apps the best way to slack? I am obsessed – as in I want to do round house kicks to the sky – with FoodGawker! If you are not hungry now, the second you open the app, you will be salivating like you haven’t eaten in days. Check it out – for real. This is not a sponsored post by the way. I just really like looking at pictures of food that much, ha! I will not also mention that I do occasionally look at their sister app, WeddingGawker. I like pretty things. Pretty things and food are my weakness!

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming – because this is a style blog after all and even if there aren’t pictures, I do get dressed daily. Except for maybe on the weekends.

I think I’ve worn this outfit every weekend since I bought this cardigan. It’s perfect. First of all, it’s mustard. If nothing else about it was good, then it would still be perfect based on it just being mustard.

Do you repeat weekend outfits?

Oh, and it’s slouchy. Which means it’s cozy. Which means I am obsessed.

These shoes. I mean, really. I walked into Crossroads and there was a beam of light shining on them drawing me to them. I am in love with these shoes. Yes, they look like little boy shoes, but I think that makes me love them even more.

If you have any other iPhone apps to recommend to me, I’d love to hear about them! I really don’t have many apps yet. I like food (duh), fashion (duh), and fitness based apps (because of my love of food, I am forced to “love” fitness).

By the way, any advice for thinking of blog titles? I am the worst!

Have you ever felt a little off? Not sad, not mad, not happy, not anxious, just off? Yeah, me too. Right now actually. The best way I can describe it is that I feel like I am waiting for something – but not anxiously – but I don’t know what it is. Hopefully my subconcious knows some good news, and I’m not sensing my death via serial killer (legit fear of mine, by the way).

*My title came from the song I am currently listening to – “At Least I’m Not as Sad” by Fun. It has no meaning to my mood, I just legitimately could not think of a title.

Speaking of serial cereal, I am definitely missing processed, chemically enhanced goodness in my life. I could definiately go for a big bowl of cereal, Fruit Loops or Honey Nut Cherrios to be exact, with a side of unnatural flavored orange juice and a big chocolate cupcake (or two) to top it off. And I’m not even hungry. So maybe it’s a good thing I can’t have those things because, honestly, that’s what I would be doing right now. The good news is that I do feel better physically and have lost a few pounds. Even my boyfriend (remember, I coerced him into doing it with me?) said that he is slowly, but surely developing a taste for healthy foods (and liking it!).

So this post is all about my accidental Gap advertisment. When we were taking these pictures, I realized I looked like a billboard for Gap (yes, even though I am only wearing one Gap item – when I think of Gap, I think of all things denim).

IMG_0412-out

You know when your jeans (or jeggings in this case) stretch out a little too much and then the knees are baggy? Yeah me too. I don’t enjoy that.

I’m kind of in love with this two toned wall that we found. Hopefully we can shoot there again. I don’t know why I say that like it’s not just a few blocks away from my boyfriend’s apartment haha.

Haha, I just realized that those three pictures all go together and make one (distorted) picture. And yeah, I rock pink socks. I actually rock all kinds of socks. I’m a little obsessed with socks.

And of course, I have to include at least one of my awkward “model/blogger” poses.

Does anyone else participant in Lent? It seems like this year that I am the only one doing it; and my boyfriend whom I forced graciously offered to support me. Not only did I give up desserts, but I gave up processed foods. That means no cookies, cakes, candies or chemically enhanced, aka delicious, packaged foods. Insane right? Six days in and I’m not doing too bad. I didn’t even cheat on the cheat day (Sundays are cheat days during Lent – no lie; apparently even God needs a cheat day once in a while). The worst part was on the second day in when I had to bake brownies for a dinner with my friends and I could not even lick the spoon, or eat the crumbs when I cut them into giant squares of moist, fudgey goodness. Or maybe it was when everyone else was eating brownies topped with vanilla fudge ice cream. I made my bed though, and I will lay in it (until Easter that is – then I will make the ultimate brownie-cookie-cupcake hybrid (oh, it exists – top it with ice cream and pray about how thankful I am for it’s deliciousness).

*Shirt: Thrifted. White Tank & Shoes: Urban Outfitters. Jeans: Gap. *Purse, Sunglasses, & Necklace: Forever 21. Ring: Sears (yeah.. Sears.)

Besides torturing and starving myself, I have also been wearing clothes. And traveling to LA. I’m averaging two trips a month so far this year, which is awesome. And costly, but mostly awesome. After we creeped around this back road behind a grocery store (that smelled of rotting meat), we went to dinner and bowling and had good times with good friends. I apparently had a little too much fun because I am covered in bruises. But for real, what’s new. I get a bruise from thinking too hard.

IMG_0240-out

It was a bit windy that afternoon.

IMG_0203-out

Or a lot windy.

IMG_0257-out

We found a prop. As gross as this old cart was, I sat on it. And then continued to ride around in it. Come on, you would do the same!

IMG_0285-out

I swear, I do not know how I am still living knowing that there are brownies and ice cream in my house. Torture.

My boyfriend thinks I’m a little wacko because I kept wanting to do this pose. I admit, it kept coming out weird, and I kept falling over before he could take the picture, but whatever. I’m trying!

Photo overload? Sorry – I love these!

K, bye!
So really, is anyone else doing Lent? And if so, are you torturing yourself as much as I am?
